Photography on textile, ash, embroidery and collage
Edition 1/1
148,5 × 101 cm / 58.5 × 39.8 in
In the artist’s own words:
“It all started with my five sisters. They passed on to me love, energy, an education, and a certain understanding of what women carry within them and pass on. Through this work, I wanted to pay tribute to women: to their ability to give life, to pass on knowledge, and to educate, but also to their spiritual and energetic power, which is not always visible. After taking the photograph, I fragmented the image into twenty parts, then reassembled them toward the center of the abdomen. This point of convergence became a place of origin, memory, and transmission. On the reverse side, I worked with charcoal to give tangible form to what, at its source, remains invisible: energy. Sacred Feminine does not seek to fully define this force, but rather to open a space where it can be felt.”
