Joseph Eze was born in 1975.He has continued to focus on experimental works and processes in his Lagos based studio, Isinka, established in the early 2000s. In keeping with a visceral fascination with textures, he searches out diverse mediums to infuse into his works, and by so doing investigates the boundaries of what is possible in materiality as well as the potentials of dynamic materials. He draws on themes of nostalgia, identity, fantasy and stereotypes to produce works that are as visually captivating as they are reflective. He has been involved in several one man and group exhibitions, projects and art fairs including an extensive exhibition, TEXTURES, at the KENT STATE UNIVERSITY MUSEUM, OHIO USA. His works enjoy wide followership and patronage in Nigeria, abroad and on social media.
