Franck Ezan
Né en 1994 à Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Ezan vit et travaille à Cocody Abatta. Après cinq années à l'Ecole Nationale des Beaux- Arts d'Abidjan, il sort diplômé d'un Master 2 en peinture en 2019.
Franck Ezan est un artiste profondément engagé dans l'exploration de la complexité de l'identité humaine. Au coeur de sa réflexion se trouve la différenciation absolue de nos empreintes digitales, qui lui sert de point de départ pour interroger la notion d'identité.
Ayant grandi aux côtés de son frère jumeau, il a été influencé dès son plus jeune âge par la dualité de cette relation unique. La recherche constante de sa propre singularité au sein de cette gémellité l'a amené à s'interroger sur ce qui fait de chaque individu un être unique. C'est dans son histoire personnelle, marquée par une enfance à la fois tourmentée et heureuse, que Franck puise l'inspiration nécessaire à son travail artistique.
Son rapport aux autres, ses tourments profonds et surtout sa relation complexe avec son frère jumeau, son véritable double en apparence, ont façonné les choix artistiques qui ont tracé son parcours. Pour lui, l'identité est un concept insaisissable, oscillant entre la sphère sociale et l'intime.

Franck Ezan is an artist deeply committed to exploring the complexity of human identity. At the heart of his thinking is the absolute differentiation of our fingerprints, which serves as a starting point for questioning the notion of identity.
Having grown up alongside his twin brother, he was influenced from an early age by the duality of this unique relationship. The constant search for his own singularity within this twin relationship led him to question what makes each individual unique. Franck's personal history, marked by a childhood that was both tormented and happy, provides the inspiration for his artistic work.
His relationship with others, his deep-seated torments and, above all, his complex relationship with his twin brother, his true double in appearance, have shaped the artistic choices that have mapped out his career. For him, identity is an elusive concept, oscillating between the social sphere and the intimate.
The paradox of identity is that it is both singular and collective, influenced by elements such as beliefs, gender, citizenship, color, social class and culture.
