ALEXIS PESKINE
Peskine graduated from Howard University in 2003 winning the Verizon HBCU Student Art Competition and was the first foreign MFA Fulbright at the M.I.C.A. His 2007 exhibition exposing racial injustice in France, at MOCADA was written up in the New York Times. In 2010, he participated in the 3rd Black Arts World Festival in Senegal, followed by the 2012 and 2014 Casablanca Biennales. In those years, he started his non-profit giving creative inner-city youths traveling opportunities, resulting to a 2015 residency in Jamaica. His participation at Dakar't Biennale 2016 enabled him to have a solo show at the French Institute. The same year, showing at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, London. Peskine had his first solo exhibition at October Gallery in 2017, "Power Figures" with major exposure at international art fairs in the following years, 2019 saw Espaço Luanda Artes residency in Angola and his solo "Amazonas" at the Museu de Arte do Rio, Brazil. "Forest Figures", his second solo at October Gallery in 2020, preceded a 2021 residency in Florence, Italy, succeeded by a 2023 residency at MAM Foundation in Cameroon. His latest exhibition at October Gallery in 2024 was titled Forest Figures.Major museums and collectors including Peggy Cooper Cafritz; Laurence Graff OBE; the New Britain Museum of American Art. New Britain, USA: The Harvard Art Fogg Museum, Cambridge, USA: Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, USA; and Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP), Chicago, USA, have collected Peskine's works.

Alexis Peskine est diplômé de l'université Howard depuis 2003, où il a remporté le concours artistique Verizon HBCU Student Art. Il a été le premier étranger à obtenir une bourse Fulbright pour un master en beaux-arts au M.I.C.A. Sa participation à la Biennale de Dakar 2016 lui a permis d'exposer en solo à l'Institut français. La même année, il expose à la foire d'art contemporain africain 1-54 à Londres. Peskine présente sa première exposition solo à l'October Gallery en 2017, « Power Figures », et bénéficie d'une importante visibilité dans les foires d'art internationales les années suivantes. En 2019, il effectue une résidence à l'espace Luanda Artes en Angola et présente son exposition solo « Amazonas » au Museu de Arte do Rio, au Brésil. « Forest Figures », sa deuxième exposition solo à l'October Gallery en 2020, a précédé une résidence à Florence, en Italie, en 2021, suivie d'une résidence à la Fondation MAM au Cameroun en 2023. Sa dernière exposition à l'October Gallery en 2024 s'intitulait Forest Figures.De grands musées et collectionneurs, dont Peggy Cooper Cafritz, Laurence Graff OBE, le New Britain Museum of American Art (New Britain, États-Unis), le Harvard Art Fogg Museum (Cambridge, États-Unis), la Pizzuti Collection du Columbus Museum of Art (Columbus, États-Unis) et le Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP) (Chicago, États-Unis), ont acquis des œuvres de Alexis Peskine.
